The Academic Calendar for Undergraduate (UG) Programmes at Loyola Degree College, Pulivendla, follows the model issued by the Andhra Pradesh State Higher Education (APSHE) and adheres to the guidelines of Yogi Vemana University (YVU). The calendar provides a structured framework for academic activities, ensuring uniformity, discipline, and effective implementation of the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) under the National Education Policy (NEP) model.

General Structure & Principles

• The academic year is divided into two semesters – Odd (I, III, V) and Even (II, IV, VI).
• Each semester includes instructional periods, internal assessments, laboratory or field work, and end-semester examinations.
• The institution ensures the required number of working days as prescribed by APSHE and Yogi Vemana University.
• Admissions, registrations, examinations, and result schedules strictly follow Yogi Vemana University’s notifications.
• Flexibility and buffer days are built into the schedule to accommodate unforeseen interruptions such as natural calamities or local emergencies.

Tentative Semester-Wise Timeline (2025–26)

Specific Phases to Include

1. Reopening / Commencement of Classes

• For new batch, orientation and induction programmes.
• For continuing students, registration and re-registration processes.

2. Internal Assessment Periods

• Midterm tests, quizzes, assignments, seminars, and class participation.
• Scheduled around the middle of the semester.

3. Laboratory / Practical / Field Work Sessions

• Labs are conducted throughout the semester, with greater intensity near the end.
• Must be completed before or along with end-semester examinations.

4. End of Instruction / Revision Period

• Final lectures, revision sessions, and mock tests before exams.

5. End Semester Examinations

• Theory examinations (external under YVU supervision).
• Practical and viva examinations as per departmental requirements.

6. Result Publication / Evaluation / Moderation

• Results are released by YVU and published locally at Loyola.
• Grading, mark compilation, and revaluation procedures follow YVU norms.

7. Vacation / Breaks

• Winter break after odd semester.
• Summer vacation after even semester.
• Public and festival holidays integrated into the calendar.

8. Buffer / Contingency Days

• Allocated for compensation of lost instructional days.
• Used for extra classes or semester extension when necessary.
