Code of Conduct for Staff

 

  1. They shall be Role Models to the students as they hold the ‘noblest profession’ in the Society.
  2. They should be punctual and regular. If any delayed for any unforeseen reasons, they can send SMS to the Principal and make necessary adjustment to their duties/classes.
  3. As per Government norms, they can avail leaves. They need to adjust their work and submit the leaver letter (Teaching staff to Principal and Non – Teaching Staff to the Vice – Principal). Medical leave has to be sanctioned by the Correspondent. Though Correspondent can sanction long leave or leave without pay, it has to be brought to the notice of Governing Body.
  4. Though there is no strict ‘dress code’, they are expected to keep up the decorum. T – Shirts or shirts with advertisements …etc are forbidden. Ladies should come in Saree for classes.
  5. Each lecturer is expected to prepare ahead and be up-to-date in his/her subjects. Since most of us is not able to prepare/study in his/her home, department is the place to sit and prepare. Therefore, loud talking or consultations are not allowed in the departmental rooms.
  6. Each lecturer is expected to have a minimum knowledge of computers and the use of electronic gadgets.
  7. Staff can borrow books from library and return them in time. Accumulating books in one’s house is depriving others’ use. Contract Staff has to return all the books on the last working day.
  8. Departmental Computer and Library must be used with utmost care. Nobody is allowed to take departmental/college laptop or any other equipment to his/her house. Any major repair has to be reported to the Principal.
  9. In addition to classroom/academic activity, they are supposed to participate in co-curricular and extension activities.
  10. The teaching and administrative staff is directly under the Principal. Similarly, the Non – teaching staff is under the Vice – Principal. Teaching Staff has to get all permissions from the Principal. When the Principal is absent, they can approach the Vice – Principal.
  11. Any misunderstanding at the individual level has to be sorted out by a personal talk. It should not hamper any common work.
  12. Any grievance has to follow the levels of sequence. For grievances of workload adjustment has to be reported to the Head of the Department then to the Principal. Matters related to academic life have to be appealed to the Principal. Any matter related to service or pay scale has to be appealed to the Correspondent. When the grievances are not settled at the proper levels, recourse to higher level is allowed.
  13. To look into serious grievances, either the grievance cell or a special committee will be approached. The person concerned has to appear before the committee and cooperate with them to make proper recommendations.
  14. Students are our valuable ‘customers’. Therefore, there is the need to keep up a good relationship with them. As they are becoming the ‘young adults’, it is a lecturer’s duty to inculcate a responsible behavior in them. Any misbehavior from a student has to be counseled by the subject lecturer concerned. If s/he is defying, then it has to be referred to the Head of the Department. In case of grave mistakes, the candidate can be referred to the Vice – Principal or the Principal. Written acknowledgment from the erred student is mandatory.
  15. Each staff is responsible of his/her class students’ punctuality and regularity. If somebody is late, s/he has to produce a late slip. If somebody is absent for more than a week, it has to be reported to the Vice- Principal/ Principal. S/he is not allowed to attend the classes without submitting the written permission letter.
  16. Corporate punishment is totally forbidden.
  17. Mobiles are not allowed in Class rooms. Talking over a mobile in the public place is discouraged.
  18. Smoking on the campus is forbidden. Consuming alcohol and coming for duty leads to suspension/dismissal.
  19. Bringing outsiders to the campus or taking them to the departmental room is prohibited.
  20. If anybody approaches for any need, s/he has to be directed to proper persons. One should not directly send the student for any outside activity or blood donation without the knowledge of the Vice – Principal/Principal.
  21. Staff cannot directly approach the Warden to send students for any activity. Written permission letter from the Principal/ Vice – Principal has to be submitted to the warden.
  22. One should not communicate directly or indirectly, any official document or its contents or any information to any person or the press, unless the management directs them for official purpose.

Code of Conduct for Students

  1. First bell is an indication for students of the beginning of classes. By the time second bell goes, all students should be in their class rooms. If anyone loiters in the verandahs, he/she would be punished. Third bell is an indication for the staff members to enter the class room.

The intervals in between the classes are given for the staff members to change their            classes. By the time the interval bell goes, all students should be in their respective class           rooms.

  1. No student is allowed to enter the class room after the staff member enters the class room. If by chance anyone is late, he/she may be given the late slip by the Principal/Vice-Principal for valid reasons.
  • College office will be open on all working days from 9:00a.m. to 4:30p.m including the lunch interval. Students should finish all transactions during the class hours and they should not be outside their classes.
  1. Each student should buy a pass book from the library. The pass book is used for issuing books from the library. College Identity Card should be worn at all times on the college-campus. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the violation.
  2. There should be no place in this college for offences like eve-teasing, fights/ragging boycotting and the like. These will be viewed seriously and are punishable with expulsion from the college.
  3. Nobody is allowed to bring mobile phones to class rooms/campus. If somebody is caught she/he will be suspended.
  • Students should conduct themselves as friends, brothers and sisters. They should deal with the staff members with respect like their own parents. A family sprit should prevail in the college. Mutual respect and love should be fostered among all the members of the college.
  • First and Second year students bid farewell to the outgoing students. It is organized by the Head of the Department with due approval from the principal. During these functions, class rooms and college premises should not be dirtied or decorated.
  1. College does not permit picnics for 1st and 2nd year students under any circumstances. For the third year students, the Head of the Department organizes study tours during quarterly and Half yearly holidays. For this, students should get a written undertaking that the college is not responsible for any mishaps or accidents that might occur during the study tours. The H.O.D. fixes places and the amount they should contribute for the common expenses.

Students should follow the instructions of the staff guide strictly during the tour. If any infringements occur, the college will view  them seriously.

Correspondent:

  1. The Correspondent is nominated by the Provincial and appointed by the Governing Body.
  2. He takes care of all the official correspondence between the Management, the Education Department or Government on matters of recognition, salaries, property, taxes, etc.
  3. He is almost the “owner” of the institution. With an approval from the Governing Body, he plans out the growth and welfare of the institution.
  4. The Governing Body authorizes him to appoint the Staff as per the needs of the institution.
  5. He is responsible for maintenance of their Service Registers, promotion based on their service, taking disciplinary action on erring staff and even termination of their services.
  6. He sanctions all the Leaves except the Casual Leave.
  7. He sanctions ordinary loans to the staff on the recommendation by the Principal.
  8. He prepares the College budget for the approval of the Governing Body in consultation with the Principal.
  9. He owns the full financial responsibility of the Institution.
  10. He is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of movable and immovable property of the Institution.

Principal

  1. Keeping the norms and guidelines of the Government, the Principal is nominated by the Provincial and appointed by the Governing Body.
  2. He is the academic Head of the Institution. In accordance with the procedures laid by the Commissonerate of Collegiate Education (CCE), G.Os, Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) and of the affiliating university, he dispenses his duties.
  3. He is responsible for day to day administration of the college. With the help of the academic Council/ Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), he plans and carries out the academic programmes.
  4. He is responsible for the Staff’s attendance, regularity, punctuality and their academic performance.
  5. He sanctions Casual Leave, signs their academic plan, teaching diary, relieving orders…etc.
  6. He conducts Staff Meeting, Departmental Meetings and takes all measures to achieve academic excellence.
  7. He is the president of various committees in the college and is responsible for their effective functioning.
  8. He is responsible for the admission of the students as per reservation norms, issuing Study, Transfer and Conduct Certificates.
  9. He follows up the students through tests/exams and takes appropriate measures to improve their academic performance.
  10. With the help of the Vice – Principal, he maintains students’ discipline on the campus.
  11. He is responsible for Special Fee, UGC, salary and any other accounts entrusted to him.
  12. He has to obtain necessary permission from the Correspondent/ Vice – President for leaving the Head quarters.
  13. He organizes orientation programmes/seminars for the Staff, meets various Heads of the Department, Coordinators and the Controller of examinations at frequent intervals and get the appraisal/evaluation of the functioning of their respective departments.
  14. He encourages the neighbourhood activities, keeps up good relation with the Parents and stakeholders.

 Vice-Principal

  1. He assists the Principal in all academic and extra-curricular activities.
  2. He takes care of the Non-Teaching Staff’s attendance and their duties.
  3. He is responsible for Students’ attendance, leave letters and other permissions.
  4. When a student is irregular, goes to the extent of condonation of attendance, he refers them to the Principal.
  5. He is responsible in administering the Institution in the absence of the Principal
